A Bit About Tapas

Born and raised at Tamluk (ancient city Tamralipta), a historically enriched town - headquarters of the Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal, an Indian state. After completion of M.Sc in Chemistry from Vidyasagar University, Tapas moved to Bhubaneswar (state capital of Odisha) for his doctoral studies (PhD) from National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) Bhubaneswar. Post PhD, he joined Prof. Debabrata Maiti’s group at IIT Bombay as a SERB National Post-Doctoral Fellow in 2017. After his second postdoctoral stay at University of Antwerp, Belgium with Prof. Bert Maes, Tapas joined Biocon Bristol Myers Squibb Research & Development Center (BBRC), Syngene International Ltd, Bangalore in March, 2021 as Senior Research Investigator and working in the discovery chemistry (R&D) division on small molecule drug discovery.
